The Network Administrator is responsible for designing, deploying and supporting network infrastructure. The responsibilities and day-to-day tasks can vary significantly and may include interfacing with both internal and external clientele. As part of the IT Operations team, the Network Administrator may be called upon to assist with issues that are not strictly network related. The Network Administrator is responsible for the entire network infrastructure, including both Internal and customer-facing networks (ISP).
Job Description:
The Network Administrator will work directly with team members from IT as well as different functional areas throughout the organization
Network infrastructure planning - including designing and deploying network solutions for a variety of use-cases, address management and subnetting
Administration of all Network gear including Cisco ASR Routers, Cisco Catalyst Switches, HP ProCurve switches, Dell Force10 and others
Experience in designing Highly Available networks
Strong VLAN Management Knowledge and Experience (Layer 2 and 3)
PPPoE Administration Experience a plus & BGP Experience
Knowledge and experience of general application protocols such as DNS, SNMP, SSH, FTP, etc.
Experience with virtualized networking technologies and related storage networking protocols
Network monitoring and response
Strong analytic support skills
Configuration management
Excellent Communication Skills
Ability to work independently or as a team player. Most projects will involve collaboration and working with other staff from the IT Operations team. Communication and willing to work as part of a team is essential
Must be self-motivated, energetic, and have a passion for technology!
Ability to drive to sites within the Northwest region
Participation in an on-call rotation is required, as well as off-hours and weekend work as needed
Experience with ISP/Telco is a must.
VoIP Experience a plus
