Job Title: EPUB and XML Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled EPUB and XML Specialist to join our digital publishing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for converting, formatting, and validating digital content using EPUB and XML standards, ensuring high-quality outputs for eBooks, online publications, and digital learning platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Convert and format content into EPUB and XML formats as per client or platform specifications.

Validate and troubleshoot EPUB files using tools like EPUBCheck and Sigil.

Ensure content compatibility across multiple devices and platforms (Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play Books, etc.).

Collaborate with content, design, and QA teams to maintain consistency and quality standards.

Apply XML tagging and DTD/schema validation to structure content accurately.

Perform quality assurance to ensure error-free digital outputs.

Optimize files for accessibility, searchability, and device responsiveness.

Maintain and update documentation for processes and file specifications.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in EPUB creation, conversion, and validation.

Strong knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS, and XSLT.

Familiarity with tools like Adobe InDesign, Oxygen XML Editor, Sigil, Calibre, and related platforms.

Understanding of metadata standards (ONIX, Dublin Core) is a plus.

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
