RESPONSIBILITES

· Build out and maintain user facing websites for our digital channels as well as our various business units

· Develop custom plugins/themes for WordPress utilizing the various hooks/filters in WordPress

· Write best-in-class code in line with a shared strategic vision

· Participate in architectural design sessions

· Create technical documentation along with test plans for tasks

· Available to work nights/weekends when necessary to investigate critical issues/outage

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· 2-6 years of hands on PHP development (PHP , )

· 2-4 years of hands on JavaScript (JQuery, , Bootstrap, prototype)

· 2-4 years of CSS3/HTML5 including responsive design

· Experience creating user facing websites using WordPress (standalone and multi-site)

· Hands on experience creating WordPress plugins, themes, child themes, custom functionality and taxonomies

· Solid understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns and best practices

· Experience working with MySQL, Amazon RDS and Aurora

· Proficient working with the WordPress database schema

· Knowledge of NoSQL platforms such as Redis, MongoDB

· Experience with Apache () and Nginx ()

· Proficient with using Restful APIs on the client side and backend

· Experience working with JSON and XML Data structures

· Comfortable working in the Linux command line

· Working knowledge of version control systems (Subversion, Git)

· An understanding of branch strategies like git-flow

· Familiar with the WordPress community and the various themes/plugins

· Highly organized, results-oriented and attentive to details; self-motivated, proactive, independent and responsive – requires little supervisory attention

· Must have a can-do attitude and must be able to thrive as a contributing member of a team

· Strong references from prior roles
