The VP, Engineering provides leadership and direction through direct reports and builds and leads a culture of accountability to meet business objectives and goals. This position is responsible for directing and performance of a product group(s) with multiple agile teams across the Engineering organization.
Deliverables and Performance Measures:
Directs and supervises the product group teams and assumes people management responsibilities including, but not limited to, staffing, the management of direct reports, and subordinate team members, setting performance objectives, conducting annual performance reviews, and recommends pay actions.
Develops staff members through coaching and fostering of a positive work environment, and mentors and grows product and team leaders.
Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of multiple complex software development projects.
Drives groups to adhere to existing processes and define new and improved processes.
Motivates groups to solve problems and deliver high quality results.
Participates with other senior level managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Provides end-to-end governance.
Manages stakeholder relationships across the business group and the company.
Performs risk and dependency management across the engineering organization.
Oversees resource planning activities, and aligns work and resources with the organizations strategy, integrating across boundaries as necessary.
Ensures the product group delivers software within the accepted quality standards by facilitating a working definition of done (DoD) for Agile stories within each group.
