Role Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director's vision and is suitable for broadcasting. The role is critical in the post-production process and your skills will determine the quality and delivery of the final output. You'll work under strict deadlines, often in a high-pressure environment, as the videos are time-sensitive and need to be delivered promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit footage into a finished project that aligns with the director's vision.
Manage different aspects of the video like camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, and graphics.
Working to a provided brief, along with an outline of footage, shot lists, scripts, or screenplays.
Assembling raw footage, including organising camera shots, and preparing them for computer input.
Inputting uncut rushes and sound into the computer, and synchronising them for editing.
Digitally cutting files to create the sequence of the film, focusing on selecting usable content.
Developing a rough cut or assembly edit to determine final cuts.
Reordering and fine-tuning content to ensure logical sequencing and smooth flow of the film/video.
Ensure timely delivery of the final product, adhering to strict and sensitive deadlines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in video editing with a solid portfolio.
Proficiency in digital editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro.
Strong understanding of post-production processes.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
