A turbine operator's job is to safely and efficiently operate and monitor a turbine area, which may include boilers, generators, steam systems, and water systems. Turbine operators may also perform preventative maintenance and inspections on turbine equipment.

Some responsibilities of a turbine operator include: Operating and monitoring equipment in the control room, Maintaining water chemistry, Making minor adjustments to equipment as needed, Performing regular inspections and preventative maintenance, and Relieving other operators during breaks.
