Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement transportation strategies that align with

company objectives and customer needs.

Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and management of the company's

fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.

Route Optimization: Utilise software and data analysis to optimise delivery routes,

minimise fuel consumption, and reduce transportation costs.

Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with transportation and logistics

providers, ensuring cost-effective services without compromising on quality.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international transportation

regulations and laws, including vehicle permits, licences, and insurance.

Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of transportation professionals,

including drivers and logistics coordinators, to achieve operational excellence and

customer satisfaction.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks in transportation operations and

implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.

Reporting: Prepare regular reports on transportation metrics, performance

indicators, and budgetary adherence for management review.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration,

or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Proven experience (10-15 years) in transportation management, preferably within the

steel industry.

Strong leadership and decision-making skills with a focus on efficiency and

cost-effectiveness.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
