Job Description

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering

Design traffic signals, coordinated systems, adaptive controls.

Investigate complaints of malfunctioning traffic signals or improper signal timing

Thorough knowledge of a wide range of ITS technologies, including Fiber optic communication, Vehicles Management System (VMS), and CCTV.

Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to develop new and innovative ideas.

Coordinate with the Traffic Management Center (TMC) on signal operations; troubleshoot, and oversee installation of underground communication and fiber optic cables

Assist in the design of localized traffic signal systems.

Perform field inspections of electrical work in new, modified, or relocated traffic signal controllers and appurtenances to ensure compliance with the electrical code, and with the intended operations of the signal.

Investigate complaints of malfunctioning traffic signals or improper signal timing .

Adjust timing and make minor modifications to traffic signals as needed.

Meet with contractors, manufacturers, representatives, engineers and field inspectors to resolve problems related to traffic signal operations; check plans.

Adjust signal operations, hardware and signal timing at construction sites.
