Measure and calculate: Welders measure and calculate the dimensions of parts to be welded.

Inspect: Welders inspect materials and structures to be welded.

Set up: Welders set up components for welding, including cutting material with a power saw.

Weld: Welders use manual or semiautomatic equipment to weld components in various positions.

Maintain: Welders maintain welding equipment and machinery.

Monitor: Welders monitor the welding process and adjust heat as necessary.

Assess: Welders assess the quality of welds and identify flaws.

Follow safety regulations: Welders follow strict safety regulations and wear the right safety gear.

Welders should be attentive to detail, alert, and able to receive and follow instructions. They should also be able to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
