Ticket checking staff, also known as Ticket Collectors (TCs) or Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs), have several responsibilities, including:

Checking tickets: TTEs and TCs check tickets for passengers in train compartments and on platforms.

Ensuring valid tickets: TCs and TTEs make sure that passengers have valid tickets and fine those who don't.

Maintaining records: TTEs maintain records of reservations and other information.

Guiding passengers: TTEs help passengers find their seats and guide them on the train.

Collecting fares: TTEs collect fares and supplementary charges.

Assisting passengers: TTEs help passengers with luggage, food, and other amenities.

Maintaining cleanliness: TTEs ensure the cleanliness of the coaches.

Reporting: TTEs report for duty at the station and sign on and off registers.

Wearing uniforms: TTEs wear clean uniforms with badges, name plates, and numbers
