Job Description

Helps clients select insurance policies that meet their needs, budgets, and preferences. Their responsibilities include:

Building relationships - Insurance sales agents build rapport with potential customers and current clients. They work with the marketing team to develop sales strategies.

Advising clients - Insurance sales agents explain insurance products and policies, and advise clients on the potential risks and benefits of each policy. They also suggest modifications to existing policies.

Processing claims - Insurance sales agents provide policy proceeds after clients' claims are approved. They also assist clients with filing insurance claims.

Maintaining records - Insurance sales agents maintain client records, prepare reports, and maintain print and electronic records.

Providing service - Insurance sales agents provide continuing service by processing changes in beneficiary, analyzing policy loan applications, and providing direct deposit forms.

Updating knowledge - Insurance sales agents update their job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
