JD – Sr. Tech Support Engineer
A Sr. Tech Support Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, including Linux-based services and systems.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, network equipment, and software applications, including Linux systems.
• Monitor system performance and take corrective actions as needed, including reviewing Linux-specific logs and metrics.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to hardware and software on both Windows and Linux platforms.
• Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures for Windows, Linux systems, and associated services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to systems, networks, and Linux-based services (., Apache, Nginx, Samba).
• Document system configurations, procedures, and policies, including Linux server configurations.
• Manage network firewalls and handle network-related troubleshooting.
• Manage backups and perform restorations, including Linux environment backups using tools like Rsync or Bacula.
• Troubleshoot issues related to antivirus software and ensure endpoint security on all systems, including Linux machines.
• Oversee asset management of systems and software across platforms.
• Monitor system performance, conduct event log reviews, and troubleshoot using Linux system tools like journalctl and dmesg.
• Configure and manage Linux services such as:
o Web Servers: Apache, Nginx.
o Database Servers: MySQL, PostgreSQL.
o Time Synchronization: NTP, Chrony.
o File Sharing Services: Samba, NFS.
o Monitoring Services: Nagios, Zabbix.
Requirements and Skills:
• At least 4+ years of experience in a system administration role.
• Experience with Microsoft services like AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and Linux, including managing Linux distributions like Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting Linux services and packages.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS
