Vidya & Child works in marginalized communities, exploring the unique potential in each child by providing opportunities for value integrated learning and development. The organization’s work currently focuses in Noida, India, with funding from international and national corporate, funding organizations and individual donors.

Vidya & Child has a School Education program for Nursery to Class 8 catering to close to 1400 children and an After School Support Programme with an outreach of over 350 children from Class IX to Class XII and beyond (in regular or open schooling or graduation). The program involves academic and financial support to children for their school education. Our Arts & Performing Arts and Life Skills program caters to all children from Nursery to class XII.

The children are first-generation learners and it is imperative that we support them through the education lifecycle ensuring that EACH child progresses and is able to recognize his/her potential and identifies with his/her own uniqueness within.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities –

Vidya & Child believes in ensuring that the maximum time that a teacher has is spent with the child. In listening to them, knowing & understanding them and involving and engaging them as much as possible. We are a process-driven organization that focuses on ‘How’ any work is done and not ‘What’ is achieved.

Direct Work with Children & Parents through –

•Class room Interaction through Teaching Academics, Teaching Life Skills, Class Activity Period, Mentoring Period, Games and Library Period, Special Assemblies and more

(Role as a Teacher)

•Parent Interaction – Home Visits, PTM’s – Individual, Small group and Large Group, Parent Events, Community Interactions
