Tax Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.

Gather, organize, and review financial data and documentation required for tax filings.

Perform research on tax regulations and stay updated on changes in tax laws.

Prepare tax-related correspondence and communicate with clients, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.

Assist with the reconciliation of tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain and update tax records and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Support the tax team with various administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in a tax or accounting support role is preferred.

Strong understanding of tax principles and regulations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and tax preparation software.

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
