Job Description

Tax assistants help tax managers and senior accountants with filing, recording, and managing taxes. This includes: Preparing taxes for individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts.

Income Tax Officers have significant powers, they are also bound by legal procedures. Abuse of power or by tax officials can be subject disciplinary actions. The powers of Income Tax Officer may vary based on their post (., Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, etc.) and the nature of the case .

The work of a Tax Assistants in the CBIC is totally clerical. Their work mainly includes dispatching and preparing some reports of the section he is posted in. Mostly they work under a Superintendent or Appraiser but in some places, he also works under Examiner, PO, and Excise Inspector.
