Duties and Responsibilities
The Medical Supply Chain Specialist will be expected to provide expertise to clients at federal agencies and international organizations in one or more of the following areas:
Medical procurement, logistics and/or shipment and freight services.
Creating and maintaining contingency plans and product risk profiles to mitigate supply chain risks including production delays; inaccurate plans and forecasts; supply disruptions; manufacturing problems; changing supply and demand for medical products; long lead times; theft; and registration and customs issues.
Ensuring smooth flow of health commodities to delivery points during emergencies or other crises.
Strengthening medical supply chains to improve flexibility, agility, and responsiveness.
Strengthening public-private supply chain partnerships. The specialist may have other duties depending on client requirements. Specific Skills and Qualifications
College degree.
Minimum 2 years work experience in medical supply chain management.
Ability to model/configure supply chain networks to pro-actively meet customer demand in the most cost-effective way.
Strong familiarity with supply chain planning systems (., JDA, Kinaxis Rapid Response, SAP APO, O9).
Ability to present findings and recommendations in a professional setting, both orally and in writing.
