Use fabricating machines like shears, brakes, rolls, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to cut, bend, form, punch, and drill metal

Position and fit parts

Use jigs, welding torches, and hand tools to position, align, fit, and weld parts together

Apply protective coatings

Apply finishes and protective coatings to the structure to protect it from the elements and for aesthetic appeal

Structural fabricators need to have the following skills and qualifications:

Manual dexterity

Precision

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

Proficiency in welding

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Physical stamina
