Roles and Responsibilities:

Structural design, Retrofitting, structural analysis, retrofitting design for vulnerable structures.

To developed / validate the models on software platforms such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE, etc. as required

Understand and utilise the guiding technical document / filled data collection forms / architectural & structural drawings / non-destructive and semi-destructive test results / geotechnical investigation results / etc. and point out deficiencies / discrepancies / additional data that may be required.

Check the material properties and all relevant data calculated by the Structural Agencies / vendors that are required for creating models and performing analysis as per relevant Indian and International (where applicable) codes / guidelines.

Develop and Check the vulnerability assessment and analysis output results followed by the design of retrofitting scheme after mutual discussion with Technical Head for superstructure, sub-structure and non-structural appendages and equipment (where applicable).

The structural engineer will review the technical document and point out any additional data that may be required to strengthen the technical document for modeling and analysis of buildings / infrastructure;

To coordinate with QC Officer (Arch. & Str.) to get retrofitting drawings checked and modified (if required);

To provide technical inputs inquired by QC Officer (Quantity Estimation) in regard to the retrofitting scheme

To help the Technical Writer in providing input for writing the technical reports based on analysis output and designed retrofitting scheme and check the technical contents thereof.

Any other technical related activities that may be required for successful modeling / analysis / creating retrofitting scheme detailed drawings / technical report writing / etc. up to finalization of the DPR.
