Job Purpose:
The Assistant Storekeeper supports the Storekeeper in managing inventory, ensuring proper storage, handling stock records, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management
Assist in receiving, storing, and issuing materials and supplies.
Ensure all goods are properly labeled and categorized.
Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies.
Keep accurate records of stock movement.
2. Stock Handling & Storage
Assist in unloading deliveries and placing stock in designated areas.
Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or loss.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store/warehouse.
3. Documentation & Record-Keeping
Update inventory records in the system or manually as required.
Assist in preparing reports on stock levels, shortages, or excess inventory.
Ensure proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials.
4. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely stock replenishment.
Communicate with department heads about stock availability.
Assist in resolving issues related to damaged or missing stock.
5. Compliance & Safety
Follow safety protocols while handling stock.
Ensure compliance with company policies and warehouse regulations.
Report any safety hazards or issues in the store.
