Job Description of Stage Technical Assistant
The Stage Sound, Lighting, and Equipment Technical Assistant is responsible for supporting the setup, operation, and maintenance of sound, lighting, and other technical equipment used during live performances, events, and productions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with production teams to ensure seamless execution of events.
Key Responsibilities:
Sound Equipment Support:
Assist in setting up and operating sound systems, including microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, and other audio equipment.
Conduct sound checks and troubleshoot audio issues during rehearsals and live events.
Ensure proper placement of microphones and monitors for optimal sound quality.
Maintain and repair audio equipment as needed.
Lighting Equipment Support:
Assist in the installation and operation of lighting systems, including stage lights, spotlights, LED panels, and control consoles.
Program and operate lighting boards to create desired effects and cues during performances.
Troubleshoot lighting issues and perform routine maintenance on lighting equipment.
Ensure proper rigging and safety of lighting fixtures.
General Technical Support:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of stage equipment, including rigging, trusses, and cables.
Operate and maintain video equipment, such as projectors and screens, if required.
Ensure all equipment is stored safely and organized for easy access.
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with directors, performers, and other technical staff to understand production requirements.
Communicate effectively with the production team to ensure smooth execution of events.
Provide technical support during rehearsals and live performances.
