SQL Server Architect will provide scalability, high availability, migration and consolidation expertise on the Microsoft SQL Server platform, a self-starter with strong leadership, professionalism, and responsible qualities.
Key Responsibilities
Determines database structural requirements by analysing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with clients; evaluating current systems.
Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
Installs database systems by developing flowcharts, applying optimum access techniques, coordinating installation actions, documents actions.
Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.
Prepares users by conducting training.
Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Qualification & Experience
The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of enterprise database administration experience, with 7 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Must have experience in administering large-scale database architectures.
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is required; a Masters degree is preferred.
Candidate must be an experienced DBA who has worked on SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014.
Strong experience with performance optimization and tuning with database applications is a MUST.
