Position: Social Media Specialist
As a social media support staff member in a higher education institution, your role is focused on managing and supporting the institution's social media presence. Here are some common responsibilities associated with social media support staff in higher education:
1. Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and publish engaging content on various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Develop a content calendar and ensure regular and consistent posting.
2. Community Engagement: Monitor social media platforms for mentions, comments, and direct messages. Respond to inquiries, comments, and feedback from students, prospective students, parents, alumni, and other community members in a timely and professional manner.
4. Social Media Campaigns: Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote events, programs, initiatives, and achievements of the institution. Develop strategies to increase engagement, followers, and reach on social media platforms.
5. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media analytics and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media efforts. Use data insights to optimize content strategies, identify trends, and measure the impact of social media campaigns.
6. Social Media Advertising: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement paid social media advertising campaigns. Identify target audiences, set campaign objectives, manage budgets, and track performance metrics.
