Shuttering Carpenter positions
that will be responsible for building forms and frames, including specialized products using curves and
angles for concrete.
Applicants should be up to date with the latest technology involving concrete form work,
possess the knowledge and skill of a specialist in the field, and maintain a high standard of
work.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and
calculate requirements for precast forms.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes,
lightweight steel, and other materials to build forms for pouring concrete.
Construct, erect and install materials and engineered formwork systems for footing forms,
column formwork, walls, concrete stairs and suspended slab.
Assemble and erect shoring towers for falsework.
Install, maintain, and restore various concrete structures.
Safely and proficiently operate electrical, air-powered, and regular hand tools as required.
Conform to plans and specifications and follow compliance with local building codes,
and health and safety regulations.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma.
Capable of lifting upto 65lbs plus, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended
periods.
3-year apprenticeship under journeymen workers.
Working at heights
Strong communication skills, reading and writing in English language.
Excellent attention to detail
Rigging training is an asset
Experience and general knowledge of construction formwork and concrete.
