The US Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining and executing the general accounting functions including monthly reporting, accounts payable, expense accrual, deferred revenue, management of the intercompany agreement between organisation within and subsidiaries, and audits and compliance with all accounting and tax regulations.
Responsibilities :
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and analyze them to identify anomalies and able to explain reasons.
Calculate and process monthly intercompany billing between US and subsidiaries in accordance with the transfer pricing agreement.
Prepare sales tax data monthly and provide to external accountant. Diligently maintain sales tax data, filing documents and payment receipt each month.
Prepare ad hoc reports requested by management, auditors, third party tax preparer, etc.
Coordinate with auditors and prepare supporting schedules for external auditors.
Reconcile cash balances weekly. Ensure cash movements between subsidiaries are recorded accurately and timely.
Review balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, other current assets, accrued expenses, deferred revenue, etc. in accordance with company guidelines and identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
Prepare journal entries based on facts and circumstances. Ensure entries are accurate and in compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards.
Follow current internal controls and policies. Able to suggest improvement.
Qualifications:
Qualified Accountant with minimum 8+ years of work experience in accounting, and 3+ years of work experience in US accounting
Bachelors or Masters degree in commerce
Professional qualification like CA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA.
Must have good understanding of US GAAP and transfer pricing.
Minimum of 5+ years supervisory experience in Finance and Accounting department.
A collaborative working style and ability to work across multiple geographies.
