Job Description:

As a Roller Operator, you will play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of road surfaces, ensuring their quality and durability. You will operate heavy roller equipment to achieve the desired compaction and smoothness of asphalt or other paving materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation: Operate heavy rollers and compaction equipment to compact asphalt and other paving materials to the required density and smoothness.

Surface Preparation: Work closely with the asphalt paving crew to prepare the surface for rolling, ensuring it is properly graded and free from debris.

Quality Control: Monitor the compaction process and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired compaction and surface finish.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on roller equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times to prevent accidents and create a safe work environment.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and any maintenance or repairs carried out.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a Roller Operator or a similar role in the construction industry.

Heavy Equipment Skills: Proficiency in operating heavy roller equipment and compaction machinery.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of compaction techniques and asphalt construction processes.

Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the proper compaction and finish of road surfaces.

Team Player: Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with construction crews.
