As a Rigger, your main role will be to handle the rigging and lifting of heavy objects and equipment at construction sites, industrial facilities, or other work locations. You will work as part of a team and follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safe and efficient movement of loads. Your tasks will include:

Load Handling: Safely rig and position equipment, machinery, and materials for lifting and moving using appropriate rigging techniques, tools, and equipment. This may involve attaching slings, hooks, cables, or chains to the load and ensuring proper weight distribution.

Equipment Operation: Operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, or other lifting equipment to move and position loads as required. Follow operational procedures and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and damage to property.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with the team, including crane operators, signalers, and other riggers, to coordinate load movements safely and efficiently. Follow hand signals or radio communication to ensure clear instructions are received and understood.

Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect rigging equipment regularly for wear, damage, or defects. Report any concerns or issues to the supervisor and participate in equipment maintenance and repair activities as required.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, including load weights, rigging configurations, and inspections. Complete necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a rigger or in a related field is preferred.

Knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
