• Making notes and preparing paperwork, both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals.

• Working with other doctors as part of a team, either in the same department or with in other specialities.

• Promoting health education.

• Undertaking managerial responsibilities such as planning the workload and staffing of the department especially at more senior levels.

• Carrying out auditing and research.

• Responsible for writing a detailed patient history.

• Responsible for physical examination of admitted patients as directed by the physician/clinician.

• Ensure that the senior resident is aware of any changes in the status of the patients, including any abnormal findings.

• Ensure that the pre - operative communication and documentation with the patient and his relatives is completed in time.

• Perform minor procedure for which he/she is privileged according to the level of training.
