Job Description

An ICU RMO (Intensive Care Unit Resident Medical Officer) is a medical doctor responsible for providing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital or healthcare facility. They play a key role in patient management, collaborating with other medical professionals, ensuring continuous monitoring of critically ill patients, and making vital decisions related to treatment and interventions. The ICU RMO ensures that all medical practices are followed to maintain the highest level of patient care.

Job Description:Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Monitoring:

Monitor Critical Patients: Constantly monitor the condition of patients in the ICU, including vital signs, lab results, and overall health status, adjusting treatment plans accordingly.

Perform Medical Interventions: Administer medical treatments, medications, and therapies as prescribed by consultants or senior doctors. This may include intubation, managing ventilators, administering IV fluids, etc.

Assess and Record Progress: Conduct regular assessments of patients' conditions, documenting clinical progress and adjusting care plans based on changes in the patient's condition.

Collaboration with Medical Team:

Work with ICU Consultants: Collaborate closely with ICU consultants and specialists to develop and execute treatment plans for critically ill patients.

Assist in Procedures: Assist in and perform invasive and non-invasive medical procedures, such as central line placement, arterial blood gas analysis, and intubation, under supervision or guidance from specialists.

Coordinate with Nursing and Allied Health Staff: Work alongside nurses, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
