Job Description

A **Resident Medical Officer (RMO)** is a doctor who works in hospitals, typically in charge of providing medical care and overseeing patient management during their shift. The RMO ensures that patients receive continuous care, works closely with other medical professionals, and handles emergency situations when needed.

### Key Responsibilities:

1. **Patient Care**:

- Provide day-to-day medical care for hospitalized patients.

- Monitor patient progress, interpret medical tests, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

- Administer medications and manage treatments according to physicians' orders.

2. **Medical Assessments**:

- Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients.

- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and procedures.

- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.

3. **Emergency Care**:

- Respond to medical emergencies, providing initial assessment and stabilization of patients.

- Coordinate with specialists and senior doctors for critical care or complex cases.

4. **Collaboration with Medical Team**:

- Work closely with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

- Assist in surgeries and other medical procedures as required.

- Attend rounds and contribute to decision-making regarding patient care plans.

5. **Patient Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including clinical notes, progress reports, and treatment plans.

- Report changes in patient conditions to senior medical staff.

6. **Supervision and Training**:

- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.

- Assist in the education and development of healthcare trainees.

7. **Administrative and Compliance Duties**:

- Ensure proper medical documentation, adherence to hospital policies, and regulatory compliance.
