RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Applications are invited for the post of RESEARCH ASSISTANT working on projects to develop diagnostics and therapeutic approaches for detection and control of microbial infections. The work will revolve around developing novel antibody-based biologicals and their use for the control of microbial resistance.
The applicant should have a MSc in biological sciences with at least 1 year of wet lab experience in the following areas:
1. Knowledge about general Molecular Biology techniques pertaining to cloning and expression of genes in bacterial and eukaryotic expression systems. Should be conversant with bioinformatic approaches to gene and protein sequence analysis. Must be conversant with the use of equipments in a modern biology lab. A good understanding of Cloning and protein expression will be an added advantage.
2. well conversant with the basic microbiology techniques. Should have knowledge about in vivo/in vitro studies regarding development of new molecule. Need to handle and subculture pathogens. Should be able to design various assays.
The candidate needs to have an open mind and develop the skills along the way by constant reading and experimentation. He/she will be expected to work in a multidisciplinary team and be involved in all the projects undertaken by the company.
# Knowledge and hands on experience about molecular biology is a must.
