Job Description

The Manager - Production Planning cum SCM will be responsible for overseeing the entire production planning and control process to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of production workflows, and expertise in engineering fabrication. The ideal candidate will coordinate between different departments to meet production deadlines, maintain inventory control, and optimize resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

● Develop and implement production planning strategies to ensure timely completion of manufacturing targets.

● Monitor production schedules and adjust plans as needed to accommodate changes in demand or supply chain constraints.

● Coordinate with the procurement, quality control, and manufacturing teams to optimize production efficiency.

● Maintain and update production reports, inventory levels, and work-in-progress status.

● Identify and mitigate potential risks affecting production timelines.

● Ensure proper allocation of manpower, machines, and materials to achieve production goals.

● Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.

● Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

● Monitor adherence to safety and quality standards in the production process.

● Train and mentor production planning team members to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.

● 5 to 10 years of experience in production planning within the Engineering Fabrication Industry or Railway industry.

● Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and inventory management.

● Proficiency in ERP/MRP software for production planning.

● Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

● Strong communication and coordination skills to work across departments.
