Position Summary
We are a leading snack food equipment manufacturing company in India having been in the business for about 20 years. We are looking for experienced & smart individual to lead our Procurement function. The position is based in Thane.
The Procurement Manager will be functionally responsible for Purchase, Stores and the Logistics functions of the organization. He is accountable for devising and using cost effective procurement & sourcing strategies, managing & discovering profitable suppliers & initiate procurement partnerships, negotiate with external vendors, implement excellent inventory management and logistics systems and processes and coordinate with internal stakeholders to support smooth functioning of the production line. He should possess excellent supply chain management skills and plays an integral role in ensuring the organization sticks to its budget and operates profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Strategically plan and execute material management operations for manufacturing unit of the organization to drive managing material costs with budgets.
Monitor business trends and product availability, negotiate with vendors, establish cost effective procurement process without sacrificing quality and delivery times
Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing and dispatching goods as per business needs
Management of procurement staff in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, Stores and logistics and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities
Carry out effective inventory management practice to maintain adequate stock levels for production & keeping inventory costs at low levels.
Manage the stock level through effective MSL and Material Requirement planning process apart from working closely with production and other departments.
Manage transportation and logistics activity to ensure on time delivery of goods
