Job Description

Grants:

In consultation with the Director of Operations, develop and implement processes and methods to manage and monitor the grants/subgrants.

Conduct grant negotiations, grant administration, and grant monitoring activities as per the JSIPL policies and align with the requirements set out in the donor’s grant agreement.

Ensure that all sub-awards adhere to the JSI systems and policies and are compliant with donor and audit requirements.

Ensure timely review and processing of monthly financial reports/invoices received from subgrantees to ensure prompt payments against submission of deliverables.

Support in tracking, storage, and timely retrieval of sub-awardee deliverables.

Participate in any reviews and audits that are commissioned by JSI / JSIPL and ensure that all systems related to sub-awards are in place and being followed

Identify the areas where the partner organizations require support and provide specific technical support on financial management, compliances, internal control systems, budgeting, sub-grants management, etc. to ensure effective program implementation.

Coordination with appointed external auditors for SRs and reviewed external audit opinions on financial reports. Also, ensure technical support to partners in preparing financial statements for audit and follow up with SRs on timely compliance on audit observations.

Ensure reconciliation between reported and audited financial data, if required • Assist in developing, enhancing, and modifying the grant management documents.

Review budgets, cost items, and prices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the approved proposal and negotiate with sub-recipients

Manage grant post-award activities, including kick-off meetings, ensuring compliance with USG requirements, drafting amendments, and securing required USAID approvals;

Review, compile and maintain all required grant information, including but not limited to, reviewing miles
