Sound technical understanding of chemical engineering principles (including fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, powder handling & reaction engineering)
- Experience in design of chemical process & equipment (such as sizing of safety valves, agitators, pumps & pipelines, reactor vessels and tanks, heat exchangers);
- Experience in New Products Introduction (NPI) & Technology Transfer/Scale-up from laboratory to plant manufacturing
- Knowledge of common engineering design standards
- Excellent communications skills with ability to work in cross-functional team Responsibilities:
- Evaluate technical feasibility for introduction of new products in existing plant;
- Suggest and lead the modifications required for technology transfer to manufacturing scale with help of R&D
- Production and Engineering teams - Provide process engineering inputs for new projects and modifications in existing plant
- Perform design calculations for new equipment and validate for existing equipment in plant
- Support production team in continuous improvement activities such as equipment debottlenecking, cost optimization, efficiency enhancement
- Develop/Update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for existing as well as new processes
- Participate in process hazard analysis and risk assessment studies such as HAZOP
