Gym instructors (also known as fitness instructors) help gym members to achieve their health and fitness goals.

Responsibilities and Daily Duties Typically Include:

Complete basic health and medical screenings

Lead inductions and how-to sessions for new members

Implement Initial Exercise Programming

Provide basic fitness testing

Interact with members Walking the floor

Promote classes, services and promotions

Offer technique advice and exercise alternatives

Teach Classes (Qualification Dependent)

Open & Close Facilities

Carry out basic equipment maintenance

Desirable:

Anatomy & Physiology Certification

Experience creating a programme for clients/members

Practical experience working or training in a gym environment

A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable
