• Maintains glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing.
• Examining and analyzing cells, tissues and blood by collecting samples. For example, collecting blood samples to conduct blood tests.
• Performing tests to look for microorganisms, parasites or bacteria in body fluids and blood.
• Making specimens or samples to examine the count of cells in blood and abnormal cells in blood or body fluids.
• Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
• Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs.
• Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported.
• Responding to telephone enquiries relating to patients, lab requests, x-rays, prescription
requests etc.
• Co-ordinating appointments for specialist referrals, x-rays lab testing, etc. and conveying
pertinent instructions and information to the patient.
• Completing and co-ordinating consent forms and day sheets.
• Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.
