As a Pastry chef you are responsible to take care of the daily cake preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:
Develop at least 10-12 cakes over the period of the next 1 year which should include a variety of flavors that includes fruits, chocolates, nuts and other ingredients.
He/ She is required to ensure that the daily production target is met.
Develop seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends.
Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs.
Coordinate daily tasks with the Senior chef and also assign task to the Junior pastry chefs.
Follow the instructions and recommendation from the immediate superior to complete the daily tasks.

Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques.
Ensure that all the new developments have a proper recipe, costing sheet and the same has to be reviewed along with the Management and approved before introducing them to the production.
Instruct and lead subordinates through their daily requirements in cake preparation.
Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to the health and safety regulations.
Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control.
In case of non-availability of any key ingredient, without approval from the management, no new alternative should be introduced to the production. Eg: Chocolates, Cream, Honey etc.
Guide and train subordinates on a daily basis to ensure high motivation and economical working environment.
Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them.
