Consultancy firm in Jamaica is seeking an Accountant to join it’s team.

We provide the following services to businesses in the SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) category:

• Complete outsourced accounting services, including payroll, taxation and management reporting

• Business Advisory- preparation of business plans, financing proposals, strategic planning, business process improvement, policies and procedures manuals.

• Business Facilitation generally-incorporation of companies; budgets; procurement of licences and permits

Roles and Responsibilities

• Management of a portfolio of clients across different industries

• Ensuring the clients’ accounting and tax compliance requirements are met on a timely basis

• Supervision of a team of junior accountants

• Ensuring performance standards are implemented and met

• Review of clients’ accounting practices are ensuring that improvements are recommended and implemented promptly

• Implementation of IFRS standards applicable to businesses in the SME Sector

• Marketing and upselling the firm’s services

Qualifications and experience

• Chartered Accountant or Bachelor’s degree majoring in Accounting. Minor in Management is desirable

• Over 2 years experience, post qualification, preferably in an accounting or auditing firm.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; MS Project and Visio

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to lead and motivate a team

• Commitment to continuous learning and implementation of technology to improve and enhance performance

Complementary Skills- Desired but not absolutely necessary

• IT experience; application of technology to improve business processes

• Documentation of Standard Operating Procedures
