Job Summary:
The Junior Staff Nurse provides essential patient care under the supervision of senior nurses and physicians, ensuring patients receive effective and empathetic care. This role is ideal for recent graduates of GNM programs or nurses with limited professional experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist in patient care procedures, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing wound care.
Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, and feeding needs.
Ensure patients are comfortable, safe, and maintain their dignity.
Medical Documentation:
Maintain accurate patient records, including intake, observations, and treatments provided.
Assist in documenting patient progress and communicating updates to senior nurses and doctors.
Support for Senior Staff:
Support senior nurses and doctors in complex procedures and patient care plans.
Follow care plans as directed by senior medical staff.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Regularly check on patients, record vital signs, and monitor any changes in patient condition.
Report any unusual symptoms or patient responses to treatments to the senior nursing team.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and families on healthcare needs, wellness, and self-care practices as per instructions from senior staff.
Infection Control and Hygiene:
Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
Ensure cleanliness in patient rooms and nursing areas.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institution.
Licensure: Registered Nurse certification (as required by local governing body).
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a clinical setting (hospital, clinic, or community healthcare).
Skills:
Basic nursing skills, such as administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
Good communication skills and empathy towards patients.
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
