Building relationships Reporters build relationships with sources, such as public officials, researchers, and administrators, to get tips and leads on stories.
Interviewing Reporters interview people who have information, opinions, or analysis about a story. They may also arrange and conduct interviews for radio and television programs.
Writing Reporters write stories or articles for newspapers, magazines, or websites. They may also create scripts for television or radio.
Verifying Reporters verify factual information from multiple sources. They also review stories for accuracy, grammar, and style.
Delivering Reporters deliver accurate information to the public. They are responsible for the information they share, and must adhere to legal parameters and ethical practices.
Depending on their specialization, reporters may work in print, visual, or online media.
