The primary duties are maintaining computer infrastructure, network hardware and other related IT systems, troubleshooting potential network issues, protecting data from online attacks and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. The ideal candidate is to join the systems engineering team, designing and developing scalable, maintainable and highly available network architecture that meets business objectives.

A network engineer is an IT expert working in computer networking. They are usually a member of the organisation's IT department and ensure its network systems run efficiently. Employers expect them to oversee various networks, including the company's intranet, extranet and phone system. They evaluate the performance of each, diagnose potential networking issues and make repairs. Network engineers specialise in network administration and systems, where they work with various IT personnel to complete a range of tasks.

Job Roles and responsibilities

- Designing and implementing new solutions and testing the resilience of the existing network environment

- Maintaining and administering computer networks, including hardware, software applications and configurations

- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and finding solutions to potential network and system issues
