Required] Exclusively Microsoft SQL Server orientated (2017+)_
_[Required] Fluent in T-SQL querying and statement creation including
the definition of stored procedures, functions, and dynamic SQL_
_[Required] In-depth experience designing data normalization and
production routines_
_[Required] Firm understanding of relational database design principles
and best practices_
_[Required] Confident in building MI/BI solutions using SSRS including
source data production/retrieval and publication of reports_
_[Required] Experience with SQL Server spatial data types_
_[Required] Knowledge of SSIS data ingestion and extraction techniques_
_[Required] Awareness of database source control platforms and
processes_
_[Required] Good communication skills in the English language as the
the candidate would be required to interact with developers in the UK_
_[Optional] Understanding of .Net programming methodologies including
Entity Framework Core_
_[Optional] Working knowledge of AIS vessel tracking data structures_
_[Optional] Awareness of Azure/AWS equivalent environments for MS SQL
hosting_
_[Optional] Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Amazon Quick Sight
and Apache Superset would be an added advantage_
In non-technical terms, we're looking for a competent database
developer, data analyst or reporting developer with experience writing
complex SQL queries, boiling down and refining data through procedures,
and evolving that data to serve as reporting outputs. The orange marked
item re spatial data would be a big help, but a confident SQL developer
would be able to learn this element in isolation on the job.
