Job Description
As a Modeller, you will combine your artistic and technical talents to form the physical features that define the characters that live within our worlds. You will be creating new blend shapes, good edge flow, hard surfaces and optimized meshes are opportunities to push your skills. Always eager to improve, youre constantly on the lookout for feedback to refine your art.
What youll do
Be aware of the artistic direction and take it into account when carrying out his/her tasks;
Know which objects to produce and adapt the work based on the project;
Collaborate in estimating the production time of the objects that must be produced with the immediate supervisor and level artists;
Create object placeholders for level design and level art needs;
Use his/her expertise to exercise sound judgement so as to respect the ratio between the quality, technical constraints, and their uses in the project;
Generate mapping coordinates for his/her objects and apply textures if necessary;
Have the artistic director or level artist validate the quality of the objects;
Verify the quality of the models once they have been imported into the game and carry out any necessary improvements;
Correct the graphic design bugs entered by testers so as to eliminate anomalies;
Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
What you bring
A college diploma in 3D Modelling or equivalent (undergraduate degree an asset)
At least 1-3 years of experience in texturing, modelling, lighting, or other related experience
Knowledge of 2D art tools and familiarity with 3D software (. Photoshop, Maya, Substance Painter)
A solid understanding of art fundamentals (lighting, composition, proportion, colour theory, etc.), physically based rendering, and game constraints
A highly creative, collaborative, and innovative spirit
Excellent observation, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Motivation to reach out for feedback and adapt to it
