Job Description

1. Design and develop mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery required for refinery operations, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and boilers.

2. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for critical mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and rotating machinery.

3. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures or malfunctions, leading to effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.

4. Conduct regular performance evaluations and assessments of mechanical systems to identify areas for improvement, increase efficiency, and reduce energy consumption.

5. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of new mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project timelines, cost estimates, and quality standards.

6. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to verify that all mechanical systems meet safety standards and do not pose a risk to personnel or the environment.

7. Perform condition monitoring and vibration analysis on rotating equipment to predict failure and improve reliability.

8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs and operation manuals for mechanical systems and equipment.

9. Evaluate and select vendors and suppliers for mechanical equipment, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

10. Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning.

11. Provide technical support and guidance to the operations team during the start-up, shutdown, and day-to-day running of mechanical systems.

12. Lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of mechanical systems and reduce operational costs.

13. Prepare and manage budgets for mechanical engineering projects and maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented.
