Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Handling: Safe and secure loading and unloading of various cargo types, including containers, flat racks, and curtainsiders.
Equipment Operation: Operate lifting equipment such as forklifts for devanning and reloading containers and trailers.
Data Recording: Accurately record key milestones during loading or unloading, including taking photos when applicable.
Health and Safety: Report and adhere to safe working practices.
Yard Duties: Perform other yard duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
Data Input: Provide accurate information to the admin team for system updating.
Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
Team Support: Assist colleagues within the transport team as needed.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve transport-related issues efficiently.
Cost Control: Monitor transport costs and seek opportunities for cost reduction.
Performance Management: Track KPIs and implement process improvements.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to transport regulations and industry standards.
Customer Satisfaction: Proactively address customer needs and exceed expectations.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements within the transport department.
Essential Criteria:
Minimum of 6 months training in rigging, cargo lashing, port-based operations, or handling
out-gauge cargo.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem Solving: Proven ability to problem-solve and find solutions under pressure.
Organisational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
