Looking for Legal Executive/ Manager based at Mumbai.
Experience: 2 to 8 years
Roles and responsibilities:
1. *Legal Compliance:* Ensure that the NBFC complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines set by regulatory authorities, such as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and SEBI.
2. *Documentation:* Draft, review, and manage legal documents, contracts, agreements, and policies. This includes loan agreements, bond issuance, and vendor contracts.
3. *Licensing and Registration:* Assist in obtaining and renewing necessary licenses and registrations for the NBFC as required by regulatory authorities.
4. *Risk Assessment:* Identify legal risks and provide advice to management on mitigating these risks. This includes assessing the legal implications of new products or services.
5. *Dispute Resolution:* Handle legal disputes and litigation, if any, in coordination with external legal counsel. Attempt to resolve disputes through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution methods when possible.
6. *Compliance Reporting:* Prepare and submit required reports and filings to regulatory authorities on time. Stay updated on changes in regulations and ensure the NBFC's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
7. *Corporate Governance:* Ensure adherence to corporate governance principles and help organize board meetings and general meetings in compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. *Training and Awareness:* Conduct training sessions for employees to increase legal awareness and promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
*Qualifications:*
- A bachelor's degree in law (LLB) is typically required, and having a postgraduate degree in law or relevant specialization may be beneficial.
- Knowledge of NBFC regulations and financial laws in India is essential.
- Prior experience in a legal role within an NBFC or financial institution is often preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are crucial.
