1 Should have knowledge of material standards used in automotive sector like IS, JIS, SAE, ASTM & DIN etc

2 Should have knowledge of various manufactueing processes like forging, casting & machining etc.

3 Should have knowledge of special processes like normalizing, annealing, hardening, tempering, induction hardening carbonitriding, injection moulding & surface tratment like phosphating & nickel plating

4 Should have knowledge of testing equipments like hardness tester, mocrovickers hardness tester, carbon sulphur apperatus & microscope etc.

5 Should be able to analyze material for warranty, customer return or inprocess failure

Physical Properties & Microstructure Analysis

1 Preperation of specimen / mould

2 Grinding, polishing, lapping & acid eatching etc

3 Microhardness & microstructure analysis of heat treated components

4 Tensile testing, eleongation %, bend & hardenability testing of bars, billets, wires & sheet metal components

Surface Tratment Process Analysis

1 Degreasing & Zinc phospating / Nickel plating bath concentration analysis by titration method

2 Plating & phosphating coating thickness checking
