Role & responsibilities
Review construction drawings, specifications, and relevant contract documents.
Perform quantity take-offs for construction subtrades such as concrete, masonry, flooring, drywall, painting, and site work.
Utilize estimating software to calculate areas, lengths, and volumes of different building components as needed.
Apply labour / material rates to quantity take-offs given by estimating manager to calculate final project costs.
Liaise with general contractors / project owner to get clarifications.
Perform other duties as assigned by the construction estimating manager.
Preferred candidate profile
Must have experience with reading construction drawings and specifications.
Must have good knowledge of computer and must be enthusiastic about learning new software and skills.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
1-2 years of previous experience estimating and construction software is required.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate excellent technical skills in construction and construction materials.
Must be highly organized, multi-tasker, and attentive to details.
Must have a personal laptop / desktop and a mobile device with steady internet.
