Responsibilities
Read blueprints: Study and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications
Inspect materials: Inspect materials and structures before welding
Weld: Use torches and power supplies to weld components in various positions
Maintain equipment: Maintain welding equipment and machinery
Monitor welds: Monitor the welding process and assess the quality of welds
Follow safety regulations: Wear safety gear like helmets, goggles, and gloves, and follow safe handling procedures for equipment
Collaborate: Work with other team members, such as pipefitters, engineers, and project managers
Skills and abilities
Physical strength: Be able to lift and carry heavy objects
Attention to detail: Pay close attention to the details of their work
Interpersonal skills: Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently: Be able to work under extreme conditions
Knowledge of math: Have adequate knowledge of maths to perform certain calculations.
