. Telecom/design engineering/DWDM logical deployment experience (Fibcom / Ciena, UTL).

To help support this critical mission, we are seeking an Optical Network Platform Engineer & Architect to foster partner engagement and high-level support of Internet nationwide Ciena 6500 based optical transport platform. The top candidate will have both great technical knowledge of current generation optical platforms and the ability to manage partnerships, projects and programs related to the optical network.

Background in Fiber and or Ciena, Fibcom and Adva infrastructure is essential for your success in this position. You must have a proven track record of project completion that is on time and within budget

Expert level of experience (2+ years) and ability to demonstrate skills in developing and managing DWDM optical transport systems, specifically long-haul coherent optical fiber communication systems with in-line optical amplifiers

Act as the primary technical and business relationship lead for the Optical platform, supporting both technical and business management areas. Collaborate with Internet to partners and vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features and come up with implementation plans for incorporating them into the network Collaborate with Internet partners to discuss roadmap, project, capacity and technical issues related to the optical platform.

Through collaboration with regional optical networks, international and campus partners, Internet to provides next-generation network services and a platform for the development of new networking paradigms. With community control of the fundamental networking infrastructure, the Internet to Network provides the scalability for its members to efficiently provision resources to address bandwidth-intensive requirements of their campuses such as collaborative applications, distributed research experiments, grid-based data analysis, and social networking.
